Office of Community Service-Learning - University of Maryland
About H & HA

For many years, a nationwide effort has taken place to educate others in the issues of hunger and homelessness. For almost 10 years now, the University of Maryland has joined the nationwide cause and has partnered with many student organizations, campus groups, and community agencies to raise awareness to this critical issue.

This year the H&HA week takes place the week before Thanksgiving, November 15-21. Through this week, opportunities to get involved and learn more are planned by a student planning team. Such events in the past have been: Non-Perishable Food/Toiletries Drive, Faces of Homelessness Panel, Hunger Banquets, Help the Homeless Walkathon, Habitat for Humanity build trips, and an Urban Plunge.
