Information for Community Partners
Community Service-Learning provides services to students, faculty, staff and community partners to encourage community service-learning that is mutually beneficial to the university and our local community.
Here are several ways that Community Service-Learning helps to promote your service opportunities:
- ServiceLink: Update your Agency's Info in our
Database for 2006-2007!

List your agency in the Community Service-Learning "ServiceLink," an online searchable database of over 850 service organizations and opportunities. To register, please read and complete the Agency Listing Form in one of the following ways: - Web Site: http://www.csl.umd.edu- Our
web site has recently been redesigned! This site contains
the majority of our printed resource materials, the serachable
database "ServiceLink," links to agencies (when
provided by you), information about University efforts in
service-learning, and resources on recruiting student volunteers.
- Publications: Monthly Calendar, UMSERVES,
handout series - Through a monthly online calendar and weekly
e-mail message, our office keeps the University community
informed about upcoming events and highlights agency and
volunteer efforts.
- Volunteer Fairs: During the fall semester,
our office selects a group of agencies to participate in
a campus wide activities fair. This event allows you to
recruit volunteers and educate the University community
about your agency's issues and concerns. The First Look
fair will take place near the end of September. To receive
an application to attend, please call (301)-314-CARE.
- Personal Assistance and Presentations: Students, faculty, staff, and visitors can gain personal assistance in locating community service opportunities at our office in 0110 Stamp Student Union. Our office staff also conducts presentations to organizations, classes, and other campus eities in an effort to promot community service and highlight agency needs.
UMSERVES - Through a weekly email message, CSL keeps the University and community informed about upcoming events and highlights agency and volunteer efforts. UMServes, our Community Service Announcement, is sent out every Monday during the academic year. If you would like to include a community service announcement, please submit them to terpservice@umd.edu by 9am on Thursday.

Monthly One-Time Calendar - This lists one-time service opportunities online for each month.
Handout Series - The handout series outlines service opportunities grouped by populations, issue, and academic major and teaches volunteers how to engage in quality community service.
