If you are looking for a unique
opportunity to serve others and, at the same time, learn new
skills, consider volunteering at a local hospital. Volunteers
make rounds on patient floors and assess patients who might
need special attention or visitors. They fill water pitchers,
engage in conversation, and help during mealtime by opening
containers for patients who cannot do so easily. They also may
help with clerical work on the nursing units. This is a great
opportunity if you are considering medical school or an allied
health profession or if you have a genuine interest in helping
people through health care. Listed below are a few hospitals
where you may serve.
