Shuttle-UM & Metro-Accessible
Service Opportunities
Community Service-Learning is here not only to assist you
in finding the right community service project, but also to
help you get there quickly, safely, and with as little hassle
as possible. If you have any questions about these and other
agencies please visit our office in 1120 Stamp Student Union
or call us at 314-CARE.
Shuttle-UM, Metro buses, and the Metro subway can deliver
you to many social service and non-profit agencies. Shuttle-UM
provides service to and from Silver Spring, West Hyattsville
and College Park Metro stations, and in the vicinity of Greenbelt
Metro Station. Several Metro buses also have stops throughout
campus. You must have a University of Maryland student ID
to ride Shuttle-UM with the exception of the College Park
Metro, Campus Connector North, Campus Connector South, Courtyards
Express, University View and all the evening services routes.
When using public transportation, you should be aware that
you might need to walk a short distance between the final
bus or Metro stop and your destination. When arranging your
service experience, ask for explicit directions about public
transportation and walking in the neighborhood of the agency.
