Community Service-Learning (CSL) provides services
to students, faculty, staff and community partners to encourage
community service-learning that is mutually beneficial to
the university and our local community. Below are a number
of resources and ways the CSL can assist you with service-learning
projects, service-learning course development, reflection,
and programming
Service-learning combines community service with structured
opportunities for learning. Students achieve specific learning
objectives, engage in active learning, integrate theory
with practice, and deepen understanding of the complex issues

Service-Learning Handbook
The University of Maryland Faculty
Handbook for Service-Learning is
available to help faculty get started in implementing
service-learning courses and to help faculty experienced
in service-learning to enhance their courses. It includes
numerous practical tools and suggests further resources.
